24/02/02: Southend Vets A team home to West Essex A


Southend Vets A team played West Essex A at Hullbridge. A 7-2 victory for Southend A (2 wins each for George Reeves and Andrew Halling and 1 for Chris Jacobs) secured the 2nd Division title.

Dennis Sweeney, Keith Fung and captain Graham Playle provided stiff opposition in a fine match.

The Southend team is shown along with captain Ray Sutton, and also included Stuart Gibbs and Colin Marco during the successful season.

26/11/01: Southend Vets D team home to Chelmsford C


Southend D Vets played Chelmsford C at Rawreth. Teams of Roger Perham, Dave Calleja and Ken Field against Malcom Jacobs, Peter Hance and Roger North (see pics).


Chelmsford won 7-2.


Dave won the only singles against Roger North and Ken and Roger won a doubles against Malcolm and Roger North.

28/10/01: Southend Vets D team were away to Colchester, and despite losing 7-2, had a good time.
