Why
do we stand with our left foot slightly forward for right handed player

Two
reasons:-
– To enable transfer of weight from back
foot to front foot increasing spin, speed and balance
– The second reason is in relation to
the Line of Motion as shown on the following two examples

With feet side-on, the stroke or “line
of motion” will be a flatter arc. In this case the players early and late
contacts are all still on the table, allowing for a much greater margin of
error. This is one reason why we
stand side-on.
