National Junior League 2011 - 2012

TT-ON-SEA Report   Day 1 – Sat 5 Nov 2011

      TT-on-Sea are again represented this season, in the National Junior League, by Charlie Bates and Kieran Skeggs. New to the TT-on-Sea team is the fast improving Sam Lowman - now at Runnymede . All 3 juniors are playing in the Southend Premier division this season.

    TT-on-Sea’s first match, against Barnet, saw Charlie and Kieran scoring hat tricks. Sam Lowman picked up another point and took the other two players to 5 close sets.

     The next match was against the Harlow team, BATTS B. Sam Lowman showed he has moved up to this level by dropping only one set for his hat trick. Charlie Bates was again on form with all straight sets wins. Kieran Skeggs added two more points after a surprise defeat to BATTS, James Knudsen.

      After 2 rounds TT-on-Sea were 2^nd of the 8 teams in division 1 and were drawn against the 3^rd team, Mossford A. A strong performance by all 3 players resulted in Charlie and Kieran netting another pair of hat tricks, while Sam gained 2 more points.

       This was an excellent performance by 3 of Southend’s best Juniors. This tournament is over 4 days. The next day is on Sat 26 Nov and will cover 4 matches, including TT-on-Sea’s main rival Ellenborough A, Chelmsford A, BATTS A & Watford Jets.
